Travel Diaries: My top 6 Paris Experiences
My trip to Paris was over five months ago now but the experience remains something that I will always carry with me.
I went into this trip with low expectations. I’d heard a lot of people who’d gone and had bad experiences in Paris. While I’d also heard about fantastic experiences, I didn’t want to get my hopes up. I think maybe this allowed me to fully give into the experience. Which ended up being what made it so special.
We only had four full days in the city. Those four days, however, were packed with exploration.
The first day was a happenstance exploration where we let the city guide us wherever it wanted. That meant spending a few hours beneath the Eiffel, wandering alone the Seine, and stopping into random cafe’s for the coveted croissant and a mimosa.
Our second day was spent on a walking tour of historic Montmartre. A beautifully vibrant part of the city that had something incredible around every corner. We went into boulangeries and chocolateries, wandered down cobble stone streets to the only vineyard in Paris, and stopped in for wine tasting at La Bonne Franquette. A day of exploration ended with a night of impromptu decisions. Champagne at a sidewalk cafe while the Eiffel sparkled in the distance and a tiny spot for dinner that was one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
There were honestly a lot of highlights on this trip. Narrowing it down to some of my top experiences wasn’t easy but here we go. Below are my five top favorite things I did in Paris with photos to back them up.
